Hello Everyone I am a newbie to the forum and to the knife world. I have a general question for you.

Is there such thing as a Carbon fibre knifes that have no metal in them. I have been told there are carbon fibre blades that are metal and I guess reinforced with carbon fibre.

Interesting... If you have a photo or description of the blade in question, Im sure that someone here can identify it for you. Welcome to BladeForums!

No we dont know if we got the knife in question. We did however get 3 others that were metal and were picked up by a metal detector. They were standdard small buck knives. Considering where they were hidden it would have been uncomforatble to put large ones in there. ;)

Those carbon-fiber/plastic knives won't show up on a metal detector obviously, but I bet they do show up in X-rays.

In addition to the AG Russell model I linked above, there are several other similar products on the market. Plus I suppose anyone who happened upon a hunk of plastic could make their own.

I swear I've seen a all black carbon fiber fixed blade from a well known knife company a few days ago while I was browsing their catalogues, but I can't recall which company was it.

I am curious, why does it have to be strictly a carbon fiber blade? Have you considered a ceramic?

We were told it was Carbon fiber by one the guys that was slashed with it. May have been ceramic were just going by what he said.

Whats up with this Garth guy. Is he Waynes friend

Well, I think a carbon fiber blade would be quite easy to distinguish from a caramic. This sounds like a pretty interesting story, starting with the part about where you found the other three knives. Was that on one person? :D
