First and foremost, hello everyone, I think Guyon's and Moose's viral marketing campaign finally worked on me:D, I broke and picked up my first Becker, a BK7. I have to say, this is a pretty cool forum you guys have here, I wanted to wait until I had pics to share before I introduced myself. The BK7 I received( amazing price) is possibly the sharpest production blade I've ever bought. Anyways, I've been on a bit of a handle mod bug lately ( did my first a couple weeks ago and haven't been able to stop planning the next), and my 7 seemed to be a perfect candidate. Sorry for the poor pics, started this in the morning and the rain here really slowed me up, gonna take some better pics in the sun tomorrow

Now with some better pics

Really dig the scales on it!!

Nice choice for your first Becker  Stick around a while. Lots of cool stuff happening 'round here. :D

The BK7 was my first of many beckers. You will love it. Now tell us about that kukri ;)

I was without a 7 inch knife so i figured i would give Becker a try, very happy so far, great blade. The kukri is a Busse TT Killa Zilla, it has replaced and surpassed every other chopper I have ever owned.

Man I love a burl handle and yours is no exception. Nice looking work you did there.

Thanks for the kind words everybody!

Those scales are sweet!!! Did you do them yourself? I need some!!!

Abrasion, yes I did them myself, with a harbor freight belt sander, a cordless hand drill and a hacksaw. I highly recommend taking the plunge and giving it a go, there is a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction to be had making your own handles to a knife, especially shaping it so it is comfortable to your hand and preferences

Beautiful wood, looks comfortable. What would you do differently next time?

This one went a a lot smoother than my last rehandle, and my first with actual pins instead of corby bolts. I was going to contour the handle a bit more, but found it was very comfortable as is. I did have to go back while I was doing the finishing sanding, I skipped the 400 grit, I couldn't find it at the time, jumped from 320 to 600, mistake! So I went back down to 220 the up through to 1500. I may give doing all the shaping before I attach them to the knife and I would like to give flared tubing a go
