I'm not sure this is the correct sub forum but this is where I've spent 90% of my time here on BF. I relized today I've post 2-3 times and have yet to introduce myself. Anyway......
Hello guys, I'm a 43 year old husband and father of 4 living in West Michigan. I've been and machinist since the early 90s and 3 years ago made the move to CNC due to the fact that even when die makers, tool makers, and machinist were getting laid off there were still always CNC operator jobs in the paper.
I'm an avid bowhunter and filmed for awhile for a couple major outdoor video/TV shows on the Sportmans Channel. My favorite place to be is 20 feet up with by bow.
My first well made higher end knife was a Dozier Slim Hunter and was more of a necessity than a want. Ive always needed a well made blade for the outdoors have always had an admoration for hand crafted items.
A few months ago really started watching youtube videos on knife making. A few weeks ago I started my first two knives. I think I'm hooked. I am amazed at how working the steel the knife takes on its own personality. I'm so appreciative of all the help I've gotten in this forum. I can't believe how friendly this site seems to be compared to other large sites I use(archery sites) daily. The members here are all so willing to help. I only hope that someday I will be a fraction of a custom maker some of you guys are.
