Hello HI Family - Good News

Beautiful child, I wonder if he will grow up loving knives??

I love the Khukri Philllll!
It's really gorgeous. How long is it? Looks like a real sword.

I love the idea of comissioning... I haven't been into Kuhks long but I'm sure more will come! Keeping my eye open for a Siru or a GS especially!

Looking forward to the arrival of my very first triangle box!! On its way...

Thanks!!! It's around 23" overall. Custom orders are great, but I do suggest picking up a few regular models first to figure out what you really like in a khuk.

Hmm looks like another one where my post didnt save. Anyways, it was just a simple Congratulations stwm. Hope everything goes well for you and your family. Can't wait to see pics of the little one when he gets here.

Grats stwm! The gift of life! Nothin better! Soon as he is born that is how long you need to have your next Khuk made! Might add a few inches or more as philllll did in anticipation! We will be waitin for the pics. Keep us updated pls!

An update: Had a final ultrasound and all is well... he's sure is a BOY!
7lbs so far and 26 days to go.... Mrs Wm is doing lovely and will stop working soon...(I'll have to tie her up to get her to stop! I married up!)
We're all very excited and bracing for impact. I hope to make some last minute improvements to the house, like install a clothes drier. Already put in a dishwasher and clothes washer which should help!

With my first son the ultrasound tech said gender can be identified early by arm position - something about girls keeping both up and boys always having at least one arm down (you know, it's a guy thing). She was right. My sons ultrasounds just laid there both hands blocking gender confirmation. Daughter's ultrasound more photogenic, rolled over, waved, did a cartwheel, blew kisses . . .

It's insane how smallest person in family can create more laundry than both adults together!!

Don't waste a second. One day your changing diapers, a week later they want a new bike, 2 weeks after that their friends call and you have to check for the car in the drive way to see if they are home or not.

Savor it.

Thanks for the kind words.
We're dealing with the whole 'Breach' thing now...maybe C-Section.
Hopefully we can get him spun around.

Argh....
Just want him here safely!

Roger. :) Loving it. Looking forward to 'the good life'

All three of ours were C Sections. Not as easy, not as convenient and they don't get to go home the same day but mom gets a couple days rest. Not so bad.
They told us no more after 2 but of course she had to prove them wrong and have # 3. Glad we did he's a keeper.
Course that was a month ago, today he's in Baghdad with the Marines, 110 degrees during the day but his guard post on the roof was just recently air conditioned so he said it's not so bad.
Has to be boring 12 hours on, 12 hours off. Rotating nights and days every other week.

Definitely a life changing event but a good one and I wish we could do it again.

Very much appreciated, Bawanna. I'm very grateful to be joining "The Best Club on Earth".

Dont yall forget the Chiruwa Ang Khola is the only Khuk warranted as a prybar in case you dont want to mess with the C-section! Let me know stwm! I can send you one if needed. You might have to splain that to the doc tho;) Glad I had mine when my grandson didnt want to come out on his own. He required a Super 20" CAK tho. Tough little tike he was!

True story. The same doctor delivered all 3 of ours and my partners 2 and a few others that we knew.
On one of ours as he's doing the C section he's telling me that he has 3 sons in college and each year he buys each of them a new Cadillac. He said I was paying for one of them.

On the last one, I brought my own knife, asked if it would save me a few bucks. He actually laughed but of course declined.

I think they were more concerned about me than my wife. The nurse and anesthetic dude were watching me close. I did fine. Kept me up at the head and couldn't see nothing anyhow.
Wife was awake but couldn't feel a thing. She'd say I feel like I'm gonna be sick, the anesthetic dude would say I got something for that, turn a knob or something and instantly is that better?

Quite an experience.

Go ahead and send it ;) How can I turn down a CAK? :)

It'll definitely be useful at the hospital but only on those uppity administrators! :) Not going near my wife with it.....

Great stories guys. Appreciate the banter and storytime. Such a great community here. We're doing well... I'm begging my wife to STOP WORKING...but she won't.

It's actually better for her to stay in her normal routine. She'll know when it's time to stop. You mention no complications or the doctor would have ordered her to stop.

I don't think the breech thing is all that uncommon and frequently they spin around when the time to join the world comes.

If it's your first it might take awhile although some go pretty quick. My granddaughter didn't take long, no panic getting to the hospital but only a few hours and she made her appearance. And middle of the day too, that's weird.

One plus to C sections especially after the first one and know for sure the next one will be one is you schedule it.

No worries. Women been having babies for years, over a hundred. Only the last 75 or so involve doctors on a regular basis and even now sometimes midwives are all that's needed.
You'll do fine and there's no better feeling in the world than holding that baby for the first time.

My best to you and the wife.

congratulations!

remember, insanity is hereditary.
you get it from your kids.

i found it gets better after they reach 40 tho.
grandkids are better, when they start driving you nuts you can hand them back. :)

Just got home with the little baby boy and he is doing great. Too tired and confused to say much else but having him and mom home safe and happy is the best feeling in the world. more to come and maybe some pics but im just still trying to figure out the whole bottles everywhere thing..i feel like i had a lobotomy.

edit: 8lbs 20.5 inches and he is STRONG. He is two days old and can lift his head up off my chest and look around. he likes to use his arms a lot and he seems like he will be willful just like me and mom.

he'll be swinging a khukuri before too long.

Congrats DAD! Nothing like the experiences you are about to go through; they can be frustrating, and joyful, all at the same time. But, it will always work out in the end.

Take care of mom, baby, and yourself. Lots of dads/grandpas here, and a wealth of knowledge gleaned from years of child rearing; got a question, concern, or whatever else, we're just a "post" away.

Take your time. Bond well but if you don't post some family pictures here, I'm coming down there. I'm serious and I mean it.

I'm so happy for you. Would love to turn back the clock and do it again, I guess that's what grand kids are for.

We can talk about that in 25 or 30 years.
