I'm looking for do's and not's on here and things i should know about sell/trading on here. If anyone has input or a thread they can link. Where i can read up on all these things or if you have anything you would like to tell new people that are interested in the Buy and trade section. Please have some input.

Read the rules, be honest, do what you say you are going to do, and communicate. It's pretty much that simple.

Well i Figured so far ive bought two knives so far and in process of a trade, but i was reading on here not to do paypal gifts and i was just wondering about it. I would like to not get ripped off im a honest old school guy when it comes to my word (its the only thing i have going for me).

I think jdspaw said it well. The best way to sum it up is to treat us like you want us to treat you.

And welcome! :)

Re: using the gift option, while it is against your agreement with Paypal, the majority of threads I look at offer you the option. It's up to you whether you use gift or not, but I don't recommend it. Neither do the mods or many of the reputable sellers. This topic has been discussed at length in other threads (use the search function), The bottom line is that you should use goods/services unless you are sending money as a gift to a friend or family member.

Well it only takes one to ruin it for everyone else right.

Not if you realize one bad apple doesn't speak for the rest of us. ;)

Being serious, you'll find most of us are welcoming and want to get along, but sometimes someone gets a burr in their butt. Best to try to stay out of the epic whizzing contests that sometimes get started in here.

Don't use Paypal Gift, don't pay custom makers in advance for work they've yet to do. Other than that, jdspaw nailed it. Welcome aboard!

Paypal gift leaves you no protection of something goes wrong with the deal. As much as we try to police our own, scammers do get in here. Just go ahead and use paypal goods, so you can get your $$$ back if that happens to you.

Ok got you thats really helpful. I'll keep that all in mind the next time i buy something if you use the goods/services is there more intrest ive seen people asking for both but they charge more for the goods/service then the gifts. I guess for the better of the forum and myself ill only use the goods/services from now on.

Thanks
