As for those of you who believe me to be the infamous Misko, I'm sorry to disappoint you ...... I am not him. You will no doubt come to learn that The Great Northern Demon is a rather unique character unto himself .......

The reason for my "coincidental" arrival at this board has a rather simple explanation - I happen to post at a heavy metal board that is operated and moderated by Misko, and have been a regular there for quite some time - long enough to forge somewhat of a friendship with Misko. I read a post there in which he explained how hurt and upset he was because he was not accepted into your community and how poorly was treated by some of you ..... so I came to see what all the fuss was about.

I should first explain that "Metalheads" forge (if I may be so bold as to use the word FORGE) an unspoken bond with one another, for the most part we live as outcasts in a conformist society, simply because our music and lifestyle is considered by most to be undeserving of their respect. I figures that I might be able to calm Misko down by coming here as seeing what was going on and why he was so upset ...... just as most of you would do for a friend or online-acquaintence, would you not?

Being a rookie knife/sword/blade enthusiast - I took the time to properly look things over and weigh out the pros and cons of this place before "passing judgement".

I am not going to comment on the posts involving Misko and the others ... at this point, my opinion of the whole fiasco is irrelevent ...... personally I don't care, and it truely is none of my business. I have more important matters to concern myself with.

After a few hours of reading posts, I decided that this is a rather unique place with many differing perspectives on a hobby with which, regardless of my life-long fascination, I am just NOW becoming familiar.

It appears as though you all have a great deal of knowledge to impart, and this is a place that I feel I can definitely benefit from .... that is IF I am still welcome.

As to whether I can teach you all a thing or two about knives, THAT, my blade-weilding brothers, is highly doubtful ...... but I think you'll find that I have a great deal of enthusiam, passion, respect, and appreciation .... perhaps by properly displaying these qualities some of you will be able to benefit from my presence here ... but that remains to be seen.

Welcome again Metal-Demon! Glad you found this place interesting enough to stay. I find the way you write interesting, and fun to read, and you are very welcome here. Of course, it is not required that one be interesting or fun to read (many are not), just reasonably civil and have a real interest in knives. Thanks for changing for profile to include an email addy. It will help give you some credibility, not that you need any anyway. Even Misko would be welcomed back if he came without looking to fight everyone. It can be a real tough crowd sometimes. But there are a lot of really good people here. Have Fun

The Misko incident was unfortunate, I think he would do all right here if he either grew a thicker skin or learned to post with more discretion. You might mention to him that we're not really a bad bunch of guys ("guys" referring to ladies, gents and <a href="http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum54/HTML/003328.html" target="_blank">Lorena Bobbitski<a>) after all...

Again, welcome.

(And I'm not just saying that because I saw Motorhead, Queensryche, and Iron Maiden in concert last month.)
 
welcome to the forums mr. metal-demon. I for one do not care if you are Misko. ( i think you are not) You seem intelligent and friendly. You may be sorry you came here though, knives are very addictive and can be very expensive!! If I can be of any service, let me know.
