Hello, newb to knives but not guns

Thank you all for the warm welcomes and advice, I have to say I apologize for coming across as using the knife only as self defense, if that was the case I would not have added the Delica 4 to my rotation. I could have worded things a little different. My friend who is a serious survivalist recommended I take the little key chain knife off my keys and pack a knife with a clip in my pocket (I use my tool a lot as a cutter), I just wanted to point out that after I started looking into a EDC knives I became addicted.

I have not picked a favorite knife yet, as I am barely getting started (received my delica 4 today). What I like most is I don't even notice I have them in my pocket even the ZT 0350, the only time I notice them is when I pick up my pants and it's still in my pocket. For the ones that recommended the ZT 0452CF 0562CF and 0560 blew me away, as I am really taking a serious look at these.

Thanks again, also I wanted to add, I have never had to use any defense weapon of any kind, ever! My last fight was a boxing match when I was 19 (I'm 51). I walk away and avoid any confrontation.

Check out WiseMenCompany for stuff that will turn your Delica into a true fighting knife. Most of all I recommend you get their wave mod and learn how to reverse wave your delica from your weak side pocket.

Those are all awesome knives, although I think you could do better for a self defense edged tool. I would say an endura or a spyderco full sized military would be better, all while also working great as utility knives. Im planning on carrying a karambit on my off side (in my case right hand because I carry my gun on the left side)

Damn. Why the hell didn’t I think or know of this?

I speak from experience. If you plan to use a karambit for self defense please get the training first. Also make sure it is a waved karambit.

Sosa Sosa I’m going to get a Signet ring for my waved Endura or Delica. At some point I will probably get the fang and ring for my Para 2.

I understand that, the reason for choosing a karambit is because i am disabled.I am a c2-c4 quadriplegic and in a power wheelchair. I am actually right handed but my right hand is much much weaker than my left which has normal function and is why I carry my gun on the left side. I am wanting a fixed karambit because I can stick my finger through the hole to get a more secure grip. I am wanting it only as a back up if I have trouble getting to my gun. I understand as a fighting knife it is a poor choice without training but I am just wanting something to rake across an attackers arm if need be, and it seemed to be the best choice for my unique situation.

Check out the SOCP dagger too. Also the WiseMenCompany I mentioned have rings you can attatch to your spydercos.

Welcome OP You've got a nice collection going with iconic models from various makers. I suggest trying different blade shapes and lock types, maybe start cheap if you're unsure, and see what you like. Knives can be just as fun if not more so than guns.

Those daggers are awesome but I dont a have enough arm movement to do any sort of thrust cut :(
I think for me a slashing motion will be most effective because I have very strong triceps.
Im thinking one of these ;) if anything they will be a nice addition to the collection.
I wish cold steel made this in a bigger blade, may be more in the four inch area. OP might be interested in this too
