Hello everyone
I am new to the site and first heard of Busse Combat only a couple weeks ago.I have been searching old posts and trying to learn during that time.I joined BladeForums to find the best knife in the design I wanted and I believe a Busse is what I NEED.

I am a little confused on some of the models.I want a big blade like the Battle Mistress but would like more of a clip point.Doesn't have to be Clip, but something that would pierce better then the BM.I would like a blade over 8 inches.I don't know enough about the current models to know what would work if any.

Can you suggest a model? Can you tell me the chance it might come up at Busse soon? I would like to see some specs.and pictures if possible.

Thank you
Randy

Did you find busse collector's site:

http://www.bussecollector.com/

It's got tons of useful info...

The FBM has plenty of "point" to it for most tasks, what are you trying to pierce? Of course there's always mods that can be done (by the busse shop if you have plenty of time to wait, or by thrid party makers that can do it professionally AND quickly.) Here's an Ergo Battle Mistress with a drop point that I had modded into a sharpened swedge for hog hunting:

Thanks xaman
The link to Bussecollector is what I have been looking for.I doubt I will ever need to pierce anything but I also hunt Hogs, with Traditional bows so you never know. The BM you posted is about what I had in mind.

If I have a third party alter the profile of a standard BM to something along the line of your BM will it void the warranty? If not, do you have a link to someone that does quality work?

Welcome, Randy!

The Fusion BMs have more of a clip point than the earlier BMs. Could be pointy enough for you, or a penetrator tip can be added easily to any of them. I don't believe it would void the warranty.

Technically speaking, having it modded by a third party will void the warranty... So it's important to send it to someone who absolutely knows what they are doing. If it's done right, there will be no need for warranty repair / replacement.

But if you are fearful of voiding the warranty on a 500 dollar knife (i know the feeling), look for one that already has a clip point and penetrator tip. There are Mojo's that are 8" and very pointy, but more of a fighter than a chopper. Pure Bred Fighter, 8" is the same thing. In choppers, the old Straight Handled Battle Mistress (very pricey), the rubber handled Basic-9, probably some others...

Thanks everyone
Can you guys tell me if the Fusion BM might be in line soon at Busse Combat or has it been in the line up recently and gone now?

well, you can get an FBM when the company store gets them in and there may be some with the penetrator tip on them for better penetration. Or you can look for a new one being sold in the exchange. The CG FBM is the only one that has an actual unsharpened swedge or clip. The problem is those are out of production.

here is a mint one with the swedge clearly visible.

there were some at the company store last night, they were gone fast. best to check couple times a day. they were black/black mags for $432.

Not only are they the best fixed blade knives made in the world but this is the kind of attention you get from the owner/designer/scotch drinker. Actually takes the time to participate in his forum and gets involved witha one on one relationship with his customers. The only thing that beats BusseCombat INFI is BusseCombat customer service!!!:cool:

Careful though bro....it's highly addictive! Oh and BTW....Welcome Aboard! :D

What part of the country are you located?

I set up for Busse at some shows in Ohio and Indiana (so far...) and normally have a decent variety of models available.

Yes, these pups are addicting on several levels, collecting, using, selling, trading.

Let us know if we can answer any questions for you man.

The ASH-1 will be stabbier than the FBM and probably handier to boot. You will have to wait a while before they come up for ordering, but it will be worth it.
