Hello brothers in knife collecting, my name is Robbie Roberson and I am the inventor of the SOG SEAL REVOLVER. I have been lurking and reading everything I could about "people who like knives" for about a year. I have been very excited about posting here but I wanted to wait until things were just right for the REVOLVER.
I wanted to allow enough time for the knife to get into the users hands and get some real use by real knife people. I am so happy to begin to hear from some of the users and so far everything I am hearing is very positive. For those who want to know more about this truly amazing knife, feel free to ask me and I will try to answer all the questions I can. If I don't know the answer, I will tell you so and then I will try to get the answer from Spencer Frazer or someone from SOG. This is all very new to me and I am sure I will make plenty of mistakes while trying to learn all these new "Gadgets" that you all use while typing these post. So this will be the first mistakes I have ever made,  I am truly glad to be able to talk to you guys about knives, I love ALL knives but I have a special place in my heart for SOG knives. So please feel free to e-mail me or post anytime you want to know something about the REVOLVER, and if I can help in any of the other areas of SOG, I will try, but I sure hope Bobby B and Heber is reading these also because they are for sure the experts when it comes to all the other SOG knives. Hope to hear from you soon. Robbie Roberson ;) ;)

Hi Robbie,

Nice to see you finally joined us online.:) Welcome.:D I'm no expert when it comes to SOG's or knives in general, I just like em and have more then I know what to do with.:D:p

Everyone, Robbie and I have been chatting for the last few months. He is a great guy. He really enjoys knives and knows quite a bit him self. If you want to know anything about the Revolver, Robbie is the one to ask.

Again, Welcome Robbie!! Stick around and join in. I for one am glad you finally registered and joined us.

Heber

Thanks Heber, I am very glad to be here, I do have a question for the forum members concerning a SOG knife, I love all SOGS but there is one that I have been hunting and wondered if someone out there has seen or got one, if so would you kindly let me know if you would like to part with it ? It is a MINI-JET EDGE, with the thumb stud, I know it is an older model, (the new ones have no stud). Heber, I sent you a picture of this knife if you could kindly post it(I will have to learn how), I would appreciate any info. on this knife or where I might find one. I did talk to SOG about this and they are looking also.
Now, if I may tell a story about the SEAL REVOLVER, I found out from one of our fine U.S. soldiers that the REVOLVER is being used in Iraq, is this cool or what ! I was so happy to hear this, the story went like this; I was signing REVOLVERS at Smoky Mountain Knife works after thanksgiving and there was this clean cut young man walked up and said, do you have any of the SEAL REVOLVERS, I said we sure do and he said I need two, one for me and one for my buddy that did not get to come home for the holidays. I said, are you going to take these to Iraq ? And he said yes, and that he had saw several other soldiers using them and wanted to get a couple. I could not believe my ears, I was so proud, I actually teared up when he told me this story, the years of hard work finally paid off. This is what I needed to hear.

Good luck in finding one. They are discontinued so will probably be a little hard to come by.

Well, Robbie, you should be proud of your project. it is an amazing idea and i definately will get one before i go back to the Sandbox. Im glad your you are getting the recognition you deserve. oh yeah alot of the Marines in 1st BN 4th Marines carry SOG knives. and alot of them are buying your knife too. so you have the support of these Devil Dogs!

Hey Robbie,

Great to see you've finally come out of the closet. Er...um...I could have said that better. Great to see you've finally revealed yourself. Well...um...I'm not sure that was much better. ;) [I hope you have a healthy sense of humor!]

Robbie...I met you in the early stages of your relationship with SOG and got to play with that first Revolver prototype. I'm glad that you're finally here in the SOG Forum, able to interact with those who are actually buying and using the product you creacted.

Take care.

Robbie,
Welcome to the Forums! Great to have you among us officially.

As for the mini Jet Edge... I'll see what I can do...;)
Rob

Check your mail... :D... Every good turn desrves another ;)

Robbie, I see you lurking.;):D Hee Hee Hee! You should share more of your Revolver stories. (And any information that you can about any updates to the Rovolver)

Heber, thanks so much for the pic, I hope I can find one of these little jewels, I fell in love with it when I first saw it and NEED one BAAAAD. Thank God that you were not the one in that avalanche, I heard it and thought for sure it might be you and some of your buddies.

Hello U.S.M.C 0331 ! Wow, you are very kind to say those things. I really meant it when I said I got tears in my eyes when that young soldier told me he would be taking the REVOLVER to Iraq. Of all the good things that could have been said about this knife, this was no doubt the best ever !! After years of very frustrating obstacles, I finally had a straight knife that was MUCH improved over the STANDARD straight knife and my wife and I agreed that if we could just get it in to the hands of men or woman who needed it, be it a soldier, or a hunter getting meat for his family, then this would the ultimate reward. And I will sincerely pray for an angel to be with you and your brothers over there while you are protecting our families. You know you are truly our heroes, and we will NEVER forget what you are doing.

Ron, Ron ,Ron, Boy am I glad to here from you ! I sure miss talking to you at SOG, but you are right, the closet got awful dark in the last year and I thought I would BUST before I could get on here and post some stories about the REVOLVER. I was just waiting for the right time and from the reports I am getting from people using this knife, I think now is a good time to start telling about some of the reviews I am getting. Hopefully there will be other forum members that have used it and would let me know what they think. Thank you for letting me post and please don't ban me for such long post  I will try to shorten them. I spent two days with Spencer at Rep. day and I realized he is my age, but looks much younger, How did this happen ?:grumpy: Robbie Roberson

Heber, One very UNUSUAL story was told to me last week by a VERY avid deer hunters friend. Lets call this hunter the SEPTIC TANK PUMPER :p because that is where I first showed him the SOG REVOLVER, he was pumping my tank  , a few days later he bought 3 REVOLVERS and gave two to his buddies. Over two months go by and his helper comes over to get another REVOLVER and he says, believe or not Robbie, the pump man has killed 12 deer in the last couple of months and used the REVOLVER to skin, gut, and cut the pelvic bone on ALL 12 deer, without EVER having to sharpen the blade one time, and the saw was still NEEDLE sharp !!! Well I have to admit, I thought this was a couple deer too much, even for the REVOLVER, but he told me this was the honest truth.
He said the pump man had only one problem while skinning the first deer, the blade was so sharp he cut into the meat before he realized it. TRUE STORY.

What I can tell you about new things happening to the REVOLVER is, look for "additions" hopefully coming in Feb. Chris from SOG will hopefully tell more soon. I know more but I can't tell, but be ready for some SUPER nice MAJOR additions.

:p  ;) Tease!!!;) :p

One of these days I'll pick up a Revolver, it looks like a great "useable" camping knife... (see my mini-rant in the "next SOG thread)...
I like the idea of the knife and saw!:D

Every one that sees the REVOLVER blade rotation is amazed at how fast you can cut a potato and within a blink, rotate to cut a limb as big as your arm, all within the body of a straight knife. Most people are so used to seeing a standard straight knife, they are not very impressed until I rotate to the saw, ,then they stare in amazement because I purposely HIDE the switch from them so they have to ask , how did you do that ? The real proof is in the pudding, every one that is using the REVOLVER now tells me they don't think they could ever do without it, and it only weighs about 6 ounces. My son carried one for two months under water while wading and fishing, and cleaned many fish, using the blade to gut, then rotating quickly to the saw to cut the head off. The knife still looks brand new and is razor sharp.

Whatever have I done to deserve it??? :footinmou :p

Robbie,
Do you happen to know if they'll be offering the Revolver without serrations for those few of us who don't like a serrated blade? That's the only thing I dislike about this knife.
Thanks.

Dpris.....Thank you for asking !!!!:D Without giving any details, I would ask you to keep a close watch on the REVOLVER in the next couple months, I can't say anything about it right now but I don't think you will be dissapointed, from the feedback I am hearing, some people like it and some don't, so I think there will be some very happy campers in the near future.
Speaking of happy campers, I am hearing some very good stories about deer hunters really liking this knife, I am very glad to also hear that it is being used in Iraq by some U.S. Soldiers,I hope it serves them well. I have not heard any specifics from Soldiers yet, but lots of feed back from hunters, and it has all been positive.:)
Stay tuned and keep your ear to the track !:D
Robbie Roberson.
