I've got a short list - It could be a lot longer but I don't want to get him a knife that he'll need to /want to do more work to get the scales replaced. We've been together for 11 years and I know him well enough to know it would never happen, he'd settle for the handle it came with.

If I was worried about lefties, I'd seriously consider the Benchmade.

Yup. Love everything about the PM2 except the steel. I've put my Manix 2 sprint in CTS-XHP through some fairly heavy use (cutting cardboard, stripping wires, trimming tree branches and plants etc plus office duty and have no issues with it whatsoever.

You are trying to invalidate my experience. I'm trying to help the OP make a decision by sharing my experience with this particular steel. Your sole purpose seems to be to cut me down. I'm done arguing.

To the op:

Of the knives you listed as being my favorite would be the North Fork. A Manix 2 with custom wood scales would be pretty slick though.
