Hello to the new faces (usernames)

Yeah, you've got it figured right, I lived in Plummer for about eight years when I was young. Spent a lot of time on Coeur d' Alene Lake, and around St. Maries, up the St. Joe River. I feel the same about CdA, a bit big for me, but still very nice for a larger town.

Congrats on making it work in Priest River, what a beautiful place. I love visiting Stanley, that country is rugged as if it were chiseled out. We usually go in the summer time though. I bet that place is frigid right now!!

We've settled in Weiser now, right on the Snake River. There's a lot to like here, but the summers are almost a deal-breaker, not near so nice as the northern summers. Take care, man. Glad to chat with you for a bit.

Hi guys, this is Flannel Man. I watch and read here but don't post too much--that's going to change. I do more on the Facebook side of things...on the S!K page and on the group page. I dig these threads. Thank you for being such a bunch of knowledgeable folks and so eager to share.

The people here and atmosphere of discussion is great. I must have been looking at a fixed blade or survival knife picture thread, and did a specific search for Survive! Knives, and found my way here. Now I can get info directly from Guy and Ellie. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.

I guess I'll go ahead and post here, even though I've kinda been on the wrong side of a couple discussions here I think. I've been fascinated with the S!K designs for a couple of years now, but didn't start really looking into them until I saw a review on Gideonstactical's channel. I think he said something along the lines of giving up his GSO 10, even though it was one of the best knives he'd ever had. I started lurking over here, and ended up pre-ordering a 4.1 in 3V, because I had just missed the 5.1, which is what I really wanted. Since then, in spite of my discussion points, I've ordered the pre-sale 5.1 in 20V (just missed grabbing the last 3V, grrrr....), and then the 4.7 in 3V just the other day when they went on pre-sale. So I've got three on order, with none in hand yet.

Only time rock. Glad to have you around. Opinions and facts are always welcome here. Its what individualism is all about. Thank god non of you are like me, I don't know if the world could handle it. :D

Hey guys a little about me .. my first knife story .. my Marine father took me to a surplus store to get me my first knife when i was 10. it was a big deal being that was the hole reason we were going there. as he had the clerk pick out a Swiss army knife from behind the counter he handed to me. and he got in to a deep conversation with the clerk about military stuff ... and in my haste on safety i had slit my thumb open all the way to the bone. and i mean Bone so i pinched the thumb so tight stuck it in my pocket and had to stand there for like 20 minutes wile these jabber jaws kept jacking but i knew if i couldn't keep my shit together the gig was up.. and no knife lol finally starvation must have been kicking in and he asked me if i liked it i said yup that's the one .... left hand turning blue in my pocket thinking mom is going to kill us both me for filling my pocket with blood and dad for it being his fault ...lmao... wow that was 30 years ago and i told him 10 years ago he almost pissed his pants but i got my first KNIFE ! and here i am blowing up the forums.. PS for all of you that have knife problems i can help...... it starts with letting go .if you want to SURVIVE you must give me your SURVIVE stuff i will do this free of cost to forum members... i just want to help ...:D

Hello, I only have a 5.0 currently but as of last night I have 3 on order: a 3.5, 4.5, and now a 4.7. Survive has forced me to purge most of my other fixed blades. I travel quite a bit so my posts will be few and far between but, I'm always checking in even if I have nothing to contribute.

Hi guys,

came across S!K a few years ago via YouTube and BF. I think it was before there was a S!K area in the manufacturer's forums. Anyway, now i came back and ordered a 5.1 ;)
And maybe a 6. And a 2.7. And... Good to know that there are so many of the same sickness.

Happy Holidays @all!

Hey, I've been a part of this sub forum for a while, but I'm not very active (very busy with work and family).

Anyway, I have 2 5.1s (both the old version), and have a 7/7 on preorder.

I have a lot of knives (even a custom from an ABS Mastersmith), and I find the quality of Survive! Knives to be top-notch!

I can't wait to get my 7/7 and put it through its paces. I'm also hoping that the GSO 20 becomes a reality in the next couple of years!

Greetings, I was thinking about and introduction thread... To learn a little about the people here... Maybe this is it?

I live in central Missouri. We farm and build farm buildings. Knives are a part of everyday life. Cutting open round bales, making kindling for wood stoves, opening crates, and many more things
.. Always reaching for a blade... Our Leatherman Tools see the most use...

My first was a gift when I was 8, and it was a used 5 inch fixed blade. Then a Buck folder for hunting when I was 11.

I have 2 Survive knives on order. 4.5 and 6. Looking at the 4.1.

I also appreciate the atmosphere here...

Cool Bryan. I'm on a farm too. We raise Brahman cattle. (Really I'm always gone on the road. So I don't help as much as I wish I could.) We had 100 or so head for years. Recent economic situations of the area we're determined we needed to down size. So we manage to keep about 30-60 head at any given time.

I know what that's like. We raised registered Texas Longhorn show cattle for years... We had about 75 head when the economy turned off in 2008. Sold all but 4 and started over with beef cattle. Now things have been good for several years, and we also have 300 sheep that raise market lambs... The farm is a great way to raise children... thanks for sharing...

Been on the road all day traveling to see family. I've enjoyed reading through the responses, welcome guys. And thanks to all the regulars, too.

rockspyder, I appreciated your post man. Congrats on the 5.1 and 4.7 pre-sale blades, I've got them coming too, and I think we may both see some gratification in the short-term on those

The next time you make it up this way, get a hold of me. I'll buy you a Burger and a beer. We can BS about knives for a bit.

Junkyard

Edited to add: That offer is good for any of the Survive! Forum members if you manage to make it out here.

Right on! Whenever I get my tour of SURVIVE! headquarters scheduled, I'll let you know and I'll buy the second round :D
