Hello!

Welcome to the forum.

I’ll save the cliché “Best forum evar!!” pitch, but I sincerely look forward to hearing your perspective.

It’s an exciting time to be in the world of CPK.

Thanks! I’ve heard nothing but awesome things about CPK, and I look forward to delving more into this world. :)

Hey there Jeannie. The J's are runnin' wild here right now, looks like. It's a pleasure to see another fine entrant into the world of CPK knives and subforum. Your booster buddy bridegroom there obviously did well, companioning with another knife lover! Too cool, Bravo! And again, a pleasure to meet you.

Now you should look into Bladesports! ;)

I’ve seen some of your videos, and it does look like something I’d enjoy. With a full-time job, 3 kids, and training for a marathon, I’m not sure how I’d fit that in. I’m always up for new sports, though! :)

Thank you! I have to give him credit for my knife addiction. He bought me my first, and just about every other since. I was a tomboy growing up, but my parents never let me have a knife. My mom tried with all her might to push Barbie dolls and beauty pageants, but all I did was destroy the Barbies with my brother’s GI Joes and play with his Tonka trucks in the mud. :D

Which begets the question: What is currently your favorite kitchen knife and what is your preferred model for use in the outdoors (irrespective of emotional attachment and based solely on utility)?

For kitchen knives, I usually end up grabbing one of my or @91bravo’s Spydercos. Our kitchen set isn’t the best, though Jonny does tend to keep them shaving sharp. But nothing slices quite like a Spydie.

As far outdoors, it’s always changing, mostly depending upon what new blade has been brought into the household. We used to be big ESEE fans. However, those were sold off back in the spring, and Jonny has slowly been building up a nice collection of different fixed blades. I’ve got a nice BK2 gifted to me recently, thanks to @Tanker 1/66 that I’m anxious to get out and try...maybe next weekend. And with Jonny’s recent aquisition of the HDFK, I may soon be in the market for a CPK myself. It looks amazing. It will soon be time to find out how it performs. :D

Whatever blade ends up in our collection will definitely get used.
