Hmmm.... I have never tried the North Rim Traverse. Now I gotta give it a try! When will you be heading up there again? Perhaps a Busse Hiking/Trail Blazing get together???? Alright everyone bust out their INFI machete!!! Oh wait, there is NO Trail Blazing in Yosemite and INFI Machete does not exist! YET!

I like to go in the spring or very early summer when the falls are raging! Yosemite Falls launching off the top of that cliff in full force is something that I just love to see & feel.

No, not in Yosemite, and not in California. "The Grizzly (or Brown Bear on the coast) was eliminated from California in the 1920s and from Oregon by the mid 1930s." (SFSU web site)

Those would be Black Bear in Yosemite.

Think Male Brown Bear in Alaska well over 1200 lbs. some say as much as nearly 1800 lbs , Male California Black Bear 425. In the lower 48 a male grizzly is maybe 800+lbs.

Those bad boys in AK get to eat a lot of fish all summer :thumbup:

I have only seen one Grizzly in the lower 48, while hiking in the Tetons.

A beautiful place. I spent weeks, months, there as a kid, and that was 50 years ago when it was a little wilder. I also used a knife there once, when I was eating dinner...
