Hi Gang. Any fans of James Helm? I liked his style the second I saw it.

I have several of his pieces from the past few years....real cutters, just up your alley my friend. [emoji106]

I like everything about Helm forge: James and co., the videos and of course the huge homemade trip hammer. :D The look of the forged blades is unique and easily recognized. My favorites are of course the big choppers.

James seems to be a hell of a guy. I have interacted with him through the forums for years. He has a TON of integrity, and he is truly dedicated to making the best that he can in his given style. If I couldn't make my own hard use stuff, I would buy his, for sure.
that is about the best compliment I can give.

Thank you, Sam and kevin.
These are compliments from two heavy hitters.

I have a 7"blade War-fighter and its my favorite blade in that size range. James really made me feel like he appreciates his customers and his craftsmanship is 2nd to none. Currently waiting for a custom knife to give my son as a congrats on his eagle scout. You can't rush perfection.

Great value for the money. Ever since I received my War Chief hawk from James, my Wetterlings Forest Ax has nothing to do.

Thanks, gentlemen!
I told James that I am on Indian time. No hurries at... all.

From traditional to tactical, Mr. Helm makes great Hawks/knives with very good prices and communication with the buyer. When I received my 12" wrecker I felt that I owed him another $80-$100. I am a tomahawk fanatic and I believe his stuff is ABSOLUTELY on par with RMJ, Daniel Winkler, Omnivore Bladeworks , Dave Wenger (some may not be familiar with the last two).

I am currently deciding between a Benghazi warfighter and a possible custom option, with the only thing holding my decision back at the moment is what I want for a handle material. (Im thinking something exotic)

I've greatly enjoyed watching James progress and evolve here in this forum.
I remember his very first days here, where he unabashedly showed his crude, early works. Truly salvaged from the wreckage of civilization.
I feel like I've watched him grow up here, and attain an admirable level of success, despite enduring some harsh criticism of his early work and methods. Perhaps because of his enduring nature has he gained well deserved respect, while staying true to, and pursuing his ideal. James has carved himself out a piece of the American Dream, and I admire him for it.

James, I'd still like for you to build me a pick one day, if you ever feel the urge.

Thank you, Lorien.
James reminds me of Hartsfield; "Damn the torpedoes... full speed ahead!"
Wait till you see this Aikuchi.
