The Hep Knife, as in “Hep me, hep me, please.”

Damn! I don’t much care what it’s called. How big is it? Can I get one? When and how much?

Hello,

THANKS PHIL!!, also thanks for the great graphics work on it, looks great for just sending you a Line drawing.

Ok, This is a new design i came up with,
Recurved as you can see, Kind of looking for a flashy Name, not to Brutal, Kind of a crossover between a Fighter and field type knife, Ect..

Also i will offer it in my standard Field grade finish, but im going to make a limited 25 piece serial numbered set, so what would the prefered material be in your opinion.

thanks alot,,,, Allen Blade

For some reason when i looked at the knife the name "Othello" came to mind

You can tell a knife nut by their hairless arms....

A beautiful knife, an elegant knife ... I wish you would call it MINE !

(hee hee hee hee hee)

OK, a compromise: it's sleek and powerful, looks good and works hard, kind of a sexy design ... call it THE MINK.

Allen, here are a couple
1.Combat/Utility Knife (Combat/Utility Fighter)
2.Tactical Applications Knife (T.A.K.)
3.The GRUNT
4.Tactical Utility Fighter (Tactical Utility Knife)
Of course, you could always name it the
Field Utility Combat Knife (Insert Acronym here)
Or how about the "Unnamed Knife"

Hi Allen,
Very nice looking knife. How about The Raven.
For steel type how about your standard carbon steel? Or because this is going to be limited to 25 pieces did you want to use a different steel then you normally use?

Shawn R Sullivan

Howdy,

I will offer it in 1095,5160,01 as the standard model, but on the limited edition
25 piece ones i was thinking of a twotone finish with hand rubbed main flat bevels and using like D-2 or A2, BG-42, 154-CM ect..
Maybe Talonite, but it would be a bit costly.

Allen

VERY appealing knife, Allen! I'm thinking that perhaps one of those I owe the pleasure of my company.

Taking in the blade and the graphics PhilL came up with, EL LOBO comes to mind.

Good Evening,
It is I,
ETCETERA!!!

My scrambled thoughts are as follows...

  • The Vampiric Gerbilicus
  • The Two Fanged Rodent (SOME credit goes to Kit Carson for that one... he thought up that name, but I went through the trouble of typing it)
  • The Cackling Hag
  • The Bobbitiskiezer
  • Doug
  • The Rattlesnake's Liver
  • Demoness Quiff
  • Melvin
  • Excaliber .454 Casul
  • The Slobbering Wino
  • Mommy
  • The Drooling Scorpion
  • The Totally Loaded Yugo
  • The Exploding Ferret
  • Debbie, The Duck Fetished Hooker
  • My Mother, The Skateboard
  • Peanut Butter in Braces: The Meal That Lasts All Week
  • The Strangled Emu
  • The Golden Shower
  • Veronica

Allen, please feel free to use any of the above names. There will be a nominal cost of 137% of each knife sold to offset the headache I got while thinkin' this up. (Also known as creative inputedness)

Off to put my resume at www.hotjobs.com to get me a gig doing this for millions,
    I remain,

Good job Phil/ Allen!

Just put me down for one and call mine "Wild Whispers".

The weakest part of any camp knife is the sheath; Please pay special attention to this detail. Ideally the sheath would:
1) Consists of cordura over kydex
2) Include a large utility pocket
3) Include a large built-in diamond
sharpening system.
4) Have multiple retension/fastening system.
5) Have a quick belt detachment.

(ideally the sheath should be a modern version of the original Gerber BMF format, with kydex replacing leather and a new stone better suited for a recurved blade)

Hey Allen- nice knife!!!

how about:
1) Guardian
2) Point Guard (I like that one)
3) Bear Paw or Bear Claw
4) Gift for Crayola

When I think of more, I'll post 'em!

Allen,
Sweet design! Since you already do great things with 52100, that might be a natural choice. Something from CPM like 3V or S90V would probably be another popular choice.

BTW, what drove the decision to go with 5160 over 52100 as one of your standard steel options for this knife?

I like Field Utility Combat Knife myself....and Allen...I double dare ya to name it that....in fact I triple dare you to name it that. If you name it that I will order one (gonna order one anyway...lol)and name my cat after you. Oh, my cat is named blade already (he really is).

That looks like one beautiful knife. Do the 2 tone finish. I love the look on my MEUK.

Folks, Allen is a superb maker. I just got my talonite MEUK yesterday in a 2 tone finish and it is one of the most beautiful functional knives I have ever laid my hands on.

You can't go wrong with a Blade blade...that is for sure.

In the light of recent discussions (those guilty know it), I would suggest Rosie's Bane. Or the Blind Spot, because I can't see the picture (my fault alone, no need to panic).

Hello,

I can offer it in 52100 also , its just a bit harder to come by it seems barstock wise.

Ive found that 5160 just works great and is tough and retains a decent edge and is easy to come by, as is 01, 1095. And it gives me the opprotunity to offer the Knives at a better Price point so the Average Guy can afford one .

Regards, Allen

PS. My website is down thanks to AOL!! , so i will be doing another one in the next few days.

Allen, I like it! Why not call it "Solace" and make it in D2. Regardless, sign me up for one. GB

How about something like 'Arctic Wolf'? Deadly when cornered, but primarily a survivalist who can live through d*mn near anything. Not just fooling around here - I really think that would be a great name for a knife like this, and you have my permission to use that explanation to describe what the name means.

P.S., is that a hollow grind I see before me?
