Oh, and go with the M2. Yeah, it may rust up a bit. But when it does, just take it home, rub it down with some flitz, and you're good to go again.

Yes, that's all well and good when you have the option to go home. But when you're a week into a month long exercise, home is a long, long way away and time is precious. Better not to allow it to rust up in the first place and be sure that it will be ready when needed.

The 710 carries very well, it actualy feels small to carry as it doesn't have any exposed rough edges to grab you. If it is in your pocket, you are still able to put your hand in and out without loosing any skin. It is extremely quick to take out of your pocket and with a quick rist flick, opens it in a flash.

Serrations are a personal thing, I prefer plain edge blades as I think that a plain edge will cut anything a serated blade will and as well, if kept sharp.

The 710HS has a black blade coating so the only rust concern is the sharpened edge. I don't beleive rust is an issue with this knife, a light coat of oil from time to time is all that is required, like any folder.
