Hello BF members, I need your help in clearing the air for the negative feedback I received from a seller last week.

Ultimately, because I asked a question, I am nearly certain I am at fault here. I guess the question is, does this issue DESERVE negative feedback?

There's no "smoking gun" or dead bodies - it's pretty straight forward. Most of the details are available to anyone and can be researched if necessary.

So I buy a knife. I pay up immediately. I don't hear from the seller.

I PM the seller the next day. I write; "confirmation? Thanks."

Seller responds; "Sorry about the delay and I should of let you know, I won't be able to ship until tomorrow. I will let you know the tracking as soon as I have it. Thanks for you patience"

I respond; "Hey there is a 2nd buyer on this one do you mind selling to him?"

Seller responds; "I will happy to do so if that is what you would like. My deepest apologies on the wait. I hope you will continue to look at my knives for sale in the future. Thank You and God Bless,"

I don't respond to the seller but I do drop a note to the 2nds buyer on his "visitor message" explaining the knife is available and to contact the seller. "Hey Mike, If the seller is agreeable you are welcome to the #66 periglass $80...contact him as I already have. Rdave" His visitor messages can be checked of course.

Seller sends me another PM saying the paypal refund was processed; "I just issued the refund and it said it will take 3-5 business days. Thanks,"

I don't respond.

The next day I get negative feedback. As follows;

"Negative, Bought the knife, paid, and then demanded a refund with no explanation
+ Reply
No explanation as to why the refund was wanted. Wish he would of just not wanted it to begin with."

I respond asking why you bless me and then bestow negative feedback on me.

So....There you have it. Please let me know what you think on this issue.

Thanks for your help in this matter.

Thank you - yes, this issue was addressed in the "help tech and support" forum last week and sent to 2 mods for their determination...I was advised to post the issue up on GBU.

All statements in quotations are FACT and have been copied and pasted into the message.

Thanks for your feedback.

Wow. Sorry to hear about this. He most likely never even shipped the knife. An inconvenience shouldn't warrant negative feedback. Most sellers and buyers (I know I have) experience inconveniences or set backs that does not justify negative feedback. I assume they will reverse the feedback as the deal was never completed.

Pretty sure that using iTrader feedback in this case isn't just inappropriate, but against forum rules as no transaction took place. I think feedback is reserved for completed deals. I'll be honest, I think what you did is sort of obnoxious, but at most it deserved a GB&U thread, not negative feedback.

Just out other curiosity, why was the delay in shipping an extra day later, 2 days after payment was sent, a deal breaker? And why did you delete your posts in the Tech support thread?

If it wasn't disclosed in the initial deal than that extra bit of information is irrelevant...... I'm a bit more patient than others but if I've emailed you for a confirmation that should have come earlier only to get another delay.... I might be out too lol

Negtive feedback was not applicable. Especially if there was a second person interested. Seems like people arw getting trigger happy with feedbqck, so time to drop some red cards.

Thank You Rev
Something needs to be addressed with this trigger happy BS going on!!!!

Thank you for the feedback BF members - much appreciated.

The seller sent me the most gracious note which clears the air between us now.

I dislike airing out dirty laundry so to speak in social media or anywhere and never intended to demonize anyone in the process and am happy this issue has been concluded.

Thanks again BF. Rdave

I know some among us think Bladeforums will make them a fortune, buying and selling. This is a hobby. Good luck, enjoy the hunt, join in the fun and excitement. Please don't take yourselves so seriously you lose sight of the brighter side of life.
