HELP! BK9 injured!

I have chipped my 9 as well. I was processing some pitchwood, nothing to big. I think I may have hit a pebble on the ground, but who knows. I worked the roughness out with my stones (with a little help from a file), and even though it still noticable, it wont interfere with how it works.

May I sugest that since you have destroyed a knife that is considered a very tuff knife that you now go all the way and enjoy this mistake.

Grind out a big semi-circle about the size of your head. Now wear it around town like somebody has chopped it into your head. Now that we need pictures of.

Next go get a new BK9 and stop swinging it around in circles.

Second thought. Maybe the BK9 is too much knife for you. Maybe you should get a BK16 until you understand how a big knife is used. Did you learn nothing from the Dewey Cox story. Do not swing around a machete or you may chop somebody in half.

Walk Hard my friend.

evildick has opened the door; where he goes from here depends on just how far he wants to fall...

Always QFP.

I chipped the edge on my new Bk10 in 4 place battoning through a pallet and I hit a nail. No big deal chicks dig scars. Chop on!

I didn't do it on purpose a friend was swinging nearby (smart) and we accidentally struck each others knife on the back swing, I do mean the secondary bevel I'm not very term savvy yet pertainings to grinds/edges, I guess I'll just try and sharpen it out

How the!.. Even on a back swing you would most likely strike spine on spine not edge on edge, you are lucky you have all your fingers!

I don't have a phone either, I should invest in something besides knives haha, Idk how we struck either and now that I think about it, I am lucky to have all my fingers lol... although I used that same machete the next day to cut to the bone of my index... on accident...on a backswing... >.> ... ... <.< ... ... >.>

I was testing some knives and I hit the BK9 into a chopping block, next to a large knife. The tip of the BK9 hit the spine of the other knife because I didnt have enough space for all the knives. I got a little nick, not too deep, but about 1/4" wide. The chip will come out over time.

Your chip, unless it goes into the primary bevel, can come out with sharpening.

What part of CT are you in?
If you aren't too far away you could swing by my shop and I'll grind it out for ya.
That's just the way Beckerheads roll.
