Help building a Survival kit

I Like the coffee Can Idea This is what my old scout kit was in The can could be used as a pot in emergencies and had room for alot of gear. its bulky though so you have to carry a day pack or larger.

you can build a kit in this in plastic bags. if you get into a bad spot you can remove the gear and put it in your pockets and then have the bottle for boiling water and the like.
