So this thread is for anyone in need of handle material questions. Busse - Swamprat-scrapyard-
Here is my first post:

I know Garth knows what it is, Maybe he’ll Chime in.
I know the black is G-10 but what is the other material. Looks like wood but feels like bone.
Any Guesses?

Top is Tan canvas, with a translucent G-10 (Jade or ivory/white color?) divider/spacer, resin filled pinecone, with brass or copper center Loveless bolts. Looks copper/stainless steel, but with that handle, thinking more like brass/stainless steel?
That's my guess 🤙

👍 I believe the translucent divider/spacer on the pinecone handle knife (custom shop MountainManDu?) may be phosphorescent plastic rather than G10. Does it glow in the dark?

HG55 Black paper handle, military overrun with urban shadow coating. When did they make these? Does anyone know?
I know Jerry said the military overrun would never be seen again in this configuration but I am guessing it was only in dessert shadow or only in the two weeks it was made?
I’m guessing a blade show special… ?IMG_2995.jpeg

Might have been a "found blank" sometimes that happens.
Dark corner of the shop type of thing

Pretty sure it was "never to be seen again" in tan canvas & Desert Shadow Camo (& sterile as a MO).
Because we did see them again offered in very limited numbers once @ KC in Comp finish & a few different handles (mine is wearing olive/black G-10, to the right of the MO's in the pic ).

I’d say oak for sure, and damn cool! Wow, what a handle.

Jaxx Jaxx - if you ever decide you have one too many 55s than you can be buried with, hit me up please.😆

Why isn’t this information provided by Busse from the get go? When I spend hundreds on a knife I expect to know everything about it. And get a sheath with it..

The girls in the office have always been super helpful in getting me answers whenever I've had a question about a knife I've purchased, including the what the heck the scales were. Give 'em a call, they'll fix you up!

I tend to agree somewhat on the sheaths. It’s kind of a pain in the ass to go hunt down something just to carry your new knife. I’m currently doing that exact task with one.🙄But, on the other hand, I usually end up with a pretty nice sheath - I don’t dick myself on gear.

I’ll just go ahead and put this out there. If Busse Combat hired a kydex bender worth his salt and furnished him with a few hundred bucks worth of equipment, they’d probably double their sales. That’s no BS. The no sheath thing is a complete non-starter for lots of guys.

I 100% agree that all materials should be disclosed, especially on a knife like that! Hell, they should be gushing all over those custom handles touting exactly what they are. I would think it would be an enormous selling point, and it’s a missed business opportunity that they don’t do that.

Any other knife company I can think of clearly lists the materials on everything they sell. Blade steel and handle materials bare minimum.
