Help: buyer beware question & trying to sharpen knife avoiding a rounded edge

To benchwarmer380 yeah I see the buttons but they don't work for me. They just give me the option to copy and stuff. I'll try on my tablet next but it should work on my phone there's no excuse for this not to work. Must be a problem with my brand new phone.

Thanks,

Thanks for the help guys. It's not letting me reply directly to your replies, I don't know why. To T.L.E. Sharp, I've tried a number of ways. I'm starting to think that Im actually just not the. Owing much material. I thi k the stone is a higher grit than I thought. I'm not getting much of a burr at all and the rounded/two angled edge is staying the Same. When my new stones get here I'll practice on them a while then post again.

Thanks again,

BO-DACIOUS

For sharpening practice, DON'T practice on your good knives. I periodically go down to Goodwill and buy a bunch of their old tableware to practice on and to test methods of sharpening on. Many time the prices are under $1 each. Once you can get a good (albeit, not long lasting) edge on crappy tableware steel, you'll be safe enough on your good stuff.

I also grind table knives down to make my short throwing knives, rather than buy crappy sets on fleabay. Yep, they bend and break just like the fleabay knives, but they're cheaper AND I get grinding practice.
