HELP!Cant make up my mind SAR8 or NMSFNO

I to have had a couple of each mentioned. now having held and used them I'd say that if your intent is avg to hvy cutting, go with the NMSFNO. It has a little more junk in the trunk and can muscle through something a little easier. If you intent is lite to med. cutting go with the SAR-8. You really can't go wrong with either. This is a time when you really need both in hand. Buy both and sale the one you don't won't, or keep both and use them equally. What ever good luck for we have all been there and thought the same thing about these and other models. The biggest dilemma I had was the FSH and the NMSFNO, both the same blade length and alot of the same style in blade, just the hilt was really different. Choose the FSH!!!

The SAR 8 is a great knife. Mine weighed in at 18 and 3/8 oz. For its length/weight i thing it packs quite a lot of infi goodness. I dont know what the NMSFNO weighs, as I dont have one. But I can say the thinner handles on the SAR 8 make more sense to keep it a lighter blade for lighter chopping. It makes a great batonning blade. Chopping is great but most chopping can be replicated with batonning.

My NMSFNO is 593 grams, or just shy of 21 oz. The FSH is a bit heavier at 668g (~23.5 oz). That's a full flat ground FSH at HH thickness (.275) - the saber ground versions would weigh more.

Im stuck On the sar8,primary use will be Deer and Bear hunting (doing you know cleaning the harvisted game, camping trips is secondary,,Been useing my SarQ alas "yettie"big blade not so great gutting but i tell you the sucker will slice down the breast bone of a deer like butter, very little effort,,But i think a narrower blade is the trick for me,,And besides ,mark my words work picks up an NMSFNO will be in the forcast, yea my addiction runs deep.INFI junky

Well I have both but they would'nt be my first choice for dressing Deer or Bear  You would struggle with both working inside the carcass IMO...especially if the SarsQ was'nt working well...of those easily available....a Boss Street would be better....if something larger for camp chores as well .... a SJTAC for the same money ...

Of the two though a SAR8 would do choked up delicate work best....
