Not to knock anyone elses suggestions, but I've had a tendency to melt the handles and shatter the tops of Fiskars and Gerbers. It is my own fault in the melting as you may guess, but it isn't as likely with a wood handle. The shattering is due to aggressive chopping, but anything I use, I want to withstand abuse. I use many Fiskar and Gerber products that I have no complaint over. Just my $.1/2.
