Hello and welcome to the forums, Alex!

Many, many nice knives out there and just as many opinions/preferences for each! For myself, I don't like to carry a lot of weight in the great outdoors, and get by just fine with a Swiss Army Knife (SAK) and a little ESEE Izula 2 (both are excellent for EDC use as well.) I also prefer a dedicated fillet knife for fishing; most are ultra-light so it isn't much to pop one in my pack. If I want a 'big bush knife', I'll opt for a machete... thin, light, cheap, versatile, effective.

Good luck! :)

First of all, welcome to the forum brother!!

So, I really wish someone had told me this when I first started collecting/being interested in knives....go to the Fixed Blades Exchange here & buy customs!!!!! They are many magnitudes better in overall quality, creativity, variance, performance, soul, etc...than the best of the production stuff is, and they are quite often less expensive, or equal cost at the worst. And all of these guys are great to deal with too.....go custom & you will not regret it - best of luck!!

I tried but none like me...also I choose the esee junglas but the sheath...is better buy a custom made or the default sheath also which molle and accessories can be attached to the sheath from esee junglas.

Of the ones you listed I have the BK 9 and am quite fond of it, but it's not a general use knife.

Not in your list, but a Mora Bushcraft Black might make a great first knife for general outdoors use. After you use it for a few outings you learn for yourself what it's pros and cons are and be better informed to purchase your next knife.

You won't be a lot of money either, the Mora is a great knife for the money.

What Van said.... Of course it sometimes takes a few years of trying things to figure out what you prefer and will use.

For everday tactical, the BK15 with 5.5" of slicing goodness and makes a great camping/hiking blade ...

For heavy duty, the BK9. You can't not have a 9! There's a reason it's called the King.

Please, please explain why is bk9 better option than junglas?? Is my first knife so I really need good reason to buy one or the other, so far the sheath of the junglas wow is so expensive from 250 to over 300....

The ESEE 6 is a great knife. I think you'll like it. (Don't know what a "cm 6" is.) I personally think it is too much knife just like I feel the Junglas (regardless of the price) is too much knife for lugging around hiking unless you have a specific need for that large a knife. That doesn't mean I don't own large knifes. Quite the contrary; I just found I almost always choose not to carry them. My favorite economy priced hiking knife is the BK-15 these days. I have some more expensive knives that I favor over it, but for just grabbing a knife and heading for the woods, it works great. I can baton with the BK-15 if I need to and it is light and handy.

On folders, I like one sized about the same as the Spyderco Delica overall. Found the Endura just a tad large for everyday use. Really like the ZT 0770CF and the Spydie Native 5. But I always carry a SAK (small one if a second knife or 111mm one if it is the only knife in my pocket) and the other folder is just there for more occasional use in practice.

BK9 is a better do everything knife than Junglas. Also, what's trekking to you? Is it a few miles during a day hike or a week of 10 plus miles/day on the Adirondack Trail? I'm not an ultra lighter but no way would I carry any of those thru-hiking.
