Ok I'm going vacation in Florida in a week and I need to chose a knife to carry on the beach (I'll take backups) but here's the choices endura 4 VG10, blacked out tenacious 8cr13mov,rat 1 black blade AUS8,PM2 s30v black blade or spyderco military CPM S30V satin which one do u think will do best in that environment without rusting?

In the sand and maybe a swimmer.
Cheapest one you can loose.

Buy a Spyderco H1 and never worry about rust again.

This or the Rat 1 you've already got.

Second thought, if that was my group of knives I would probably take the Endura. Full flat or saber grind?

I've taken my Street Beat and a g10 dragonfly to the beach before. Both were fine afterwards.

I assume you'll want something suitable for . . . ahem . . . deep carry? Speedo or something a little more modest?

But seriously, what use(s) do you have in mind for the knife you choose?

When I spend time on the beach, it's usually about which one cleans easier, to be honest. I was at the beach this past weekend and I had an Emerson Mini Commander. 154CM ain't king of corrosion resistance, but it did fine.

just normal EDC stuff opening stuff just incase I need it for what ever

If you can take a couple of minutes a day to rinse it in fresh water and put a drop or two of oil in it, any knife will do. I HATE the beach with a burning passion (I truly think sand was created exclusively to annoy me), so when I'm forced to go I stick to small fixed blades. I once got sand into a SAK and it drove me mad.

Forgot my William Henry E10 was in my pocket when I went to the beach a while ago. The machining was so tight, I couldn't get a single grain of sand stuck in the mechanism. It all fell right out just by moving the action. Blew my mind. You should go with one of those.

What better excuse do you need to buy a knife in H1? I always take my Pacific Salt to the beach or pool.

People put way too much "worry" and decision into what knife they should take to the beach or use around salt water. Before Spyderco H1 all kinds of knives did just fine in salt water. Take what you like......and clean it. It will be fine.

Of those I'd probably take the Endura.
But I'm in the water a couple times a month, so I picked up a Salt I. Works great, no rust, and salt and sand wash out easily.
