Help date knife Hermes Paris

Just an update on this, I didn't get round to emailing hermes BUT I did find out it belonged to my great grandfather who bought it in London before the first war and took it with him to Ireland Palestine, Kenya and back to UK. So probably 100 plus years old.

On another thread really I also found another knife owned by the same man, pics added to my Flickr above. I thought I found the maker but can't find it now, initials I R, I think a czech maker, igor something - any help?! Really good steel holds a great edge but gets quite rusty.

Thanks all

Eric
The black wood handled is stainless (inoxydable on the ricasso).
The palme knife is a hunter's pattern and was also produced in Solingen and of course in Thiers. Unfortunately since the demise of "Flash", the maker's logos database is no more available.

Hi thanks for this, interesting. According to my grandmother (in her 90s) she remembers it through her life and belonged to her father, she 'thinks' it was bought in a luxury shop in London when he was visiting there but not certain. Therefore it appears to be of that age but your post has perplexed me! Perhaps stainless was a novelty but maybe this knife was novel.? Interesting conundrum. Will have to email hermes!

Stainless was created in the mid-20s. Nogent was probably an early user as most of the production was for surgery and scisssors.
