First there is Todd's website, for those of you that missed the link at the top of Todd's subforum: http://tmhuntcustomknives.com/Home.html

Now for those that are unaware, Todd trusts (laughably) in Diesel D and I to help him in taking over the world. Diesel D handles the website and some shop time and I, well I'm not sure what in the hell I do. Anyway, Diesel D has done a great job with the website as far as we can tell, but this thread is for further input. We don't wanna leave well enough alone, just like Todd's knives, we're always striving to make it all a bit better. If you have any suggestions for improvement on this subforum or the website please post below or pm one of us. We'll take it under advisement. Thanks!

I got a suggestion! How about you and Diesel D quit flappin your jaws and get your asses to the shop and get to work! :rolleyes:Just a thought!

Site looks great really. the only thing missing to me is prices. The m-18 is one of the coolest looking knives i have ever seen. but i have no idea the cost. Maybe i have to email to get it but this could cause alot of unwanted emails. And its hard to save up for something when you dont know how much to save. some people, myself included might not want to ask the price because they are not ready to buy and dont want to bother the knife maker for "nothing" but a quote. But the site looks very well done. i really like that there is a meet me page. its always a comfort to read about the person a little before you make a purchase.

Send me a prototype of each knife, for quality control purposes. :D

Minor suggestions:

- Might look into moving the navigation bar further down, I missed it twice when I was looking for it (but that's just my blindness).

- Put spacing and possibly a description between each picture on the home page. A ton of pictures on top of each other looks very bad and leaves people wondering why the really long picture doesn't look right.

- Separate the photos page into albums. I.e. knives you made, knives you own, knives you sell. I say separate them only because right now I'm trying to load your 4 page long photo page, only half of which has photos.

Again, these are just some minor suggestions that may or may not help all that much, but I think they could make the site a little more appealing.

Excellent suggestions so far guys, thank you. Myself or the others will address them more in the morning.

T dawg makes some nice knives, or so i hear. yup. good stuff.

get some!

I agree with the addition of prices.
Also, maybe a list/price of available options (sheaths, handle scales, etc..).

In my opinion, the website looks great. It has been fun to watch it evolve over the last few months.
Great work, guys.

You can imagine my delight in waking up this morning to a thread with my name on it. This goes against my anonymous nature. Couple points, however. As you gentlemen may be aware, Mr. Hunt, Murph and myself are all employed full time at other jobs. This knife thing is a as-time-permits occupation. That may not be so hard to believe for Murph and I, But wrap your head around the fact that Todd is cranking out these blades in the evenings and on weekends in between family obligations. My point is, the next big look for the site is over Xmas break, as I have the whole week off, so anything posted here will be examined, picked apart, drunkenly debated in the shop, heartily rejected, fought and cried over, and tried out before going live on the site. When we say we're a small operation, we're not kidding. We have all marveled we got a site up and going at all, but as this business picks up, we know we've got to keep..honing it, and xmas is the next opportunity. I know the pics need work, and we'll certainly take suggestions. We're just damn happy to be having this conversation, to be honest with you.

The pics of Thurmond on the "Meet Me" page appear to be mis-sized, giving him a strange "squished" look. Take some decent pics of the man. Change copyright to the actual symbol for copyright on the footer (ALT+0169). Remove the code for the "Powered by Website Builder GoDaddy" thing down there. Giving them free advertising does nothing for you guys. Some pictures have a "TMHUNTCUSTOMKNIVES" watermark right across the pic, while others don't. The ones that do are distracting and take away from being able to see the product. The Div layer that holds the picture album is set to have a min height that is much, much larger than the actual album and causes a bunch of blank space. Get rid of the min height value or lower it so that it sizes accordingly. It will resize to the content without it. That is about all I can see wrong.

I'm trying to help DD out in my own ways s best I can, not so sure there's any helping you Murph...

I'd be glad to do some artwork for the website (can't promise it would be as good as the sig I did for you though).

I wasn't sure if you wanted me to mention that yet, Mist. But yes..when I keep saying the pics need work, what I'm really saying is Mistwalker has agreed to shoot the workhorse line in his unique style for the site. That's the aforementioned Xmas update I'm looking forward to. And Derek, I'm going to look into your suggestion(s) this weekend. We at some point started watermarking thinking that if people were emailing the pics of Todd's blades, we wanted the world to know where to find them, not just say, "wow that's a cool knife, wonder who made it". It may be distracting, but our thought was if people shared the pics, they could find their way the site. Perhaps a smaller one in the corner that doesn't interfere with the subject...hmm.

Just to add a little. Diesel D has never before made a website. I am VERY fortunate the I have a few guys that are willing to help me out. Diesel. Was givin the task of the website and thrown in it will no help from me I must admitt. Not only has he figured it out but he helps with answering Emails talking to coustomers and even finds time to come to the shop and help with cutting blade blanks out on the bandsaw. Not bad for somebody who also works fulltime. Has a new baby boy and is building a new home. So go easy on him guys! Because quite frankly I can't afford to pay somebody for what he does for good deals on knives and a few cheep beers!

Jeez dude, for all that you could at least throw down for some mediocre beer once a month or something...just sayin'

I think Tyrese's site overall needs more flair. How else is Throg supposed to advertise his wares?

If you guys need some help with the website gimme a holler. I know a little about that sort of stuff, and would be glad to help.

Hey man, I just said I was trying to help...lol, you're the one that let the cat out of the bag :D ...not that I care of course. I like Todd, and I happen to like his knives very much. I'm glad to help where I can and this is one time I seriously don't mind trading out some work :)
