Help drilling slits in custom g10 scales for a wire clip?

I just recently traded for a spyderco sage 1 (love the knife, btw) and the guy who traded it to me included some jade g10 scales he made. They're really nice scales, but I was wondering if there's anyway for me (a pretty non-handy man type of guy) to put the slits required to fit a wire clip onto the scales. And of those ways, which would be easiest and what tools would I need? Thanks for any replies. Also - If I decide not to clip these scales, has anyone ever had an issue with a knife falling out of their pocket if they don't clip it in?
