Hi all,

I have been searching the internet and come across so many different options that Im overwhelmed.

I’m searching for a sub 3.5 fixed blade that I can comfortably carry on day hikes and maybe bring along on smaller camping & canoe trips (as a companion knife).

Something that is sub 3.5” blade, light, not a huge profile.
I would use it to start a fire, some food prep, cut an apple on the trail and maybe create a stick for a sausage kinda knife… no huge woodworking no batoning but something that can help me in a pinch.
I live in Europe so it’s hard to see most knives in real life.

I love the look of the White River M1, White River FC 3.5, LT Wright Small Northern Hunter or LT Wright First Valley. I don’t have size comparisons though so I don’t know if these are too big or way too small to carry for my use case.
I’m a female with medium hands (not small fine hands).

Any help, suggestions?
I have a couple of folders but would like a fixed knife.
Could also be two such as White River FC3.5 and LT Wright SNH for example.

I would appreciate any help I could get!

I bet that for your described usage, you'd really like the LTW SNH. Lightweight, compact and easy to hike with, with great ergos and a versatile blade design.

But of course, a Mora Companion is cheap and easy to find in Europe.

Mora Companion is a great suggestion and I was going to say the same thing myself. There are lots of other Morakniv models to look at as well. One thing about the regular Companion is that you will need to sharpen a section of the spine if you want it to be able to strike a ferro rod with it. It's a very common modification. Most moras come with unfinished spines.

Cheap, easy to find, lightweight, durable, probably light enough to justify one for food and one for other tasks...

Yes, to Mora. Also check Hultafors and Terava. I know many of the common offerings are around 4", but there should some smaller ones that will meet your desired size.

I seem to remember a similar post started by the op a while back?? 🤔
What say you op?? 😁

Don’t worry it will be the last post I’ll be making..,
You got a lot of great info and suggestions in ALL your past/current posts!! 😁
Just a knife. Something if it doesn’t work you can pass it along.
John 😁
