Help finding damascus

I am going to make a knife for guy, he wants damascus steel. He showed me pictures of the kind of pattern he wants, but i can not find what he likes in stock anywhere. I need a piece that is 2 inches wide. Here is a link to a pic of the 2 that he likes

I think i might try to call him. The guy i'm making the knife for does not like anything he saw on Alabama Damascus, Thanks though.

Since those are the two patterns you like why not just forward the photos to Randy and Devin and ask if they have any on hand?
Both are super nice people.

I agree with Mark. I have purchased damascus from both Randy and Devin and they are both great guys and easy to work with.

I contacted Randy. He said he has something similar made up right now or he can make some new. Now I just have to show the pic of it to the guy who commissioned me to get his approval. That was the problem the whole time, I could find plenty of damascus but he only liked that certain one.

Nathan, remind your customer that most twist looks different and most would say better as you grind into it unless the maker has already surface ground away a substantial bit on each face of the billet to show you the good pattern..
