Ok folks, I have read on here before about attaching a thumbstud to a folder that doesn't have one and there was a link to where they sold them. I have been searching for awhile with no luck. Can someone please post a link to where you buy the thumbstuds you can attach to folder. Thanks

TBG,

Didn't they used to be called "Flickets" or "Flickits" or something similar? Sorry I can't be more helpful.

That was the key. Found them a EKnifeWorks. Thanks allot. I knew I would have the right answer within minutes. Gotta love the internet. :)

you can also get a cobalt bit and drill a hole, and get a stud from kovals (if you want something more permanent). Of course that depends on the blade steel, and heat treat.

Badguy those Flickets look like crap on a knife. I would think about rev_jch's suggestion, a little bit of work but come out looking better providing the knife will take the stud in it's design

Yeah I think I am going to just try to get someone to install one for me. I don't have a drill press and this is going on a damascus blade, so I would rather fork over a few bucks to get it done right. Thanks guys

is the flick-it the same thing that used to be called a one-hand bandit opener. if so i know where you can order one possibly.

The one arm bandits are far superior to the Flickit. Bandits attach witha a set screw--- the Flickets had a U shaped channel that went over the top of the blade and was squeezed or friction fitted somehow. BTW, since you are in Virginia, Chesapeake Knife and Tool has the bandits for the full retail of $10 as opposed to $4.99 at eKnifeworks but if that's all you are buying it will be cheaper at Cheaspeake than through Knifeworks with shipping. Cheasapeake is also having their semi annual clearance now. I picked up a beautiful G. Sakai titanium handled clutch lock for $45.

E works make two size bandits:http://www.eknifeworks.com/ One up to 1/8" and the other up to 3/8". If you could figure out how to attach a small clip or wire on it or under it as you install it you could make it work like Emersons wave opener.Just not to pretty.I saw a post where someone had done this to regular thumbstuds...............R
