Help- my First new to me FiddleBack is Arriving Soon.

How to Prevent Rust Under Scales? This is a Hunter 01 steel and I'm going to be using it hard and storing it in the car. Also making a kydex sheath with firesteel loop unless someone has a good link to one for reasonable cost?

No need to prevent. The epoxy used to seal the scales to the liners and the liners to the metal prevent rust.

Otherwise, wipe the blade down and dry when you are done. Doesn't hurt to use mineral oil or wax from time to time on the scales and metal.

PT nailed it. No need to worry about whats under the scales unless you get some warp in a wood handle and the epoxy seal breaks. This would require fixing at the shop. We fix the issue for free if it is fixable, but we do not guarantee that wood will not warp. Especially if it is subjected to high heat such as in a car. For that application, micarta or g10 is best.

Yep. No need to worry about moisture under the scales. I cleaned these rainbows with my Handyman then dunked her in the stream to wash off and never even thought twice about it.
