I recently purchased 2 Delicas in ZDP-189 from sellers with 100% feedbacks, one a BF member. Both were the original owners who purchased from reputable dealers.
When I received them, I gave them a close inspection, comparing to each other and to an older Delica in VG10. Both ZDP Delicas are identical and the only difference from the VG10 Delica are the blade markings - the VG10's is rolled/stamped, while the ZDP's seem to be etched. S'okay, I thought, different steels, different process.
BUT, while the "SPYDERCO ZDP-189" were clean and straight on one side, the "SEKI-CITY JAPAN" were rough and jagged on the other. On both of them.
I ask another BF member who has a Delica ZDP-189 and his are all clean and straight.
So ... how does your Delica ZDP-189 compare?
Are these rough and jagged etchings just a manufacturing defect?
