Hey everyone! Does anyone know a website where I can still get a Gen 3 Delica? I was using one on my A.T. hike and lost it. Its the lightest knife of that size I can find, it was perfect for the job!! I have a Gen 4 but it is a half ounce heavier.:D Im an ultralight backpacker so this matters for me.

The gen 3 delica rode so light in my pocket I didnt even know it was there! Of course obviously I didnt know when it was NOT there either:eek:

Thanks for any help!!:)

The last few I've bought came from eBay. They turn up there pretty often. The Salt 1 uses the same handle, although it lacks the splinter-picker tip, and should be the same weight as the D3. The H-1 steel is tough, strong and durable, and will not rust. You might consider it if you can't find a D3.

Don't be surprised if this gets moved to the Want to Buy forum.;)

I hope not This is more of a Where To Buy question:D I figured folks here would know better than anyone! Good suggestion about the salt, but that splinter picker tip means not having to carry tweezers! Off to look at e-bay (duh...why didnt I think of that) thanks!!

Actually True Value Hardware stores isn't a bad place to find disco'd Spyderco's sometimes.

That depends on where you are. The True Value stores here have never had Spyderco knives, or at least not in the last twenty-five years. The only place I can buy a Spydie locally is at one pawnshop, and he generally charges MSRP. If you wait a few years, that can become a good deal.

Worst case scenario, you can buy a Salt I and regrind the tip, or have it done by a pro. I know STR does splinter picker tips for people, and I'm sure any number of others could, too.

and incase you have not heard almost all sports authority's now carry spyderco :D

Funny you should mention. . . . I stopped in a Sports Authority today in my new hometown (Pueblo, CO) and they have their Spydercos marked down 20% below their already reduced price. Ended up with a foliage green D4CE for $47 including tax!! I was actually planning on stopping at WallyWorld for a Native since my last few EDC's are packed away in storage now and just happened upon the SA deal by chance. The 20% sale is only for today so grab em if you can!

oh crap...............this is gonna wind up costing me more money than I thought..................all these deals:D
