HELP! I just can't decide; Tomahawk or Machete?

The only thing a hatchet/hawk/axe can't do is clear brush. However, it can chop down a short walking staff with which you can push brush aside or break it down out of the way.

What kind of bushwacking are you doing to need a machete? I'm trying to wrap my head around that as I've never seen the need. No judgement just wondering.

I recently picked up a tiny Fiskars hatchet and it is a feather weight, with a lifetime warranty. My Condor Barong is a thicker\more robust machete without being heavy.

Then you haven't spent much time working your way through ultra dense secondary forest, might as well be a jungle

This method is helpful when there's just a few sticks or branches laying over the trail, unfortunately I am dealing with much thicker brush
