Hey guys, I am tight on money, but I am really wanted a high quality traditional knife. Does anyone know of any traditional knives that are under $20. The knife can not be over that 20 dollar mark. Thanks guys.

Rough Riders. Lots of patterns to choose from, pretty good knives, great low prices so you can try out different models without investing a bunch of cash.

Go find a well loved old Schrade USA...many patterns to chose from. You will not be disappointed.

Rough Rider or the Buck 37x / 38x series. They are made in China but good knives for the money, and the Buck knives are guaranteed by Buck. You can find Case Sod Buster Jr knives in Yellow or Black Delrin for right around $20, and the Case "Caliber" lightweight Zytel-handled knives are also down around that price point.

+1 on USA Old Timers, Buck 370 series, Vic, and Opinel. Pick the style you like - you can't go wrong.

Not a bad suggestion yet.

A Victorinox Recruit is about $15, and it's an excellent multi-function knife. Can't get much more traditional than Victorinox, and no one beats their consistency of high quality production.

Most of the inexpensive knives I have on the shelf are Rough Riders and Colts. For the most part I think they are pretty decent, especially considering their prices.

You do not say whether you want a fixed blade or folding knife. If a folding knife, do you want a lockback or slipjoint? A good knife for $20 that is not Chinese made is tough, when it comes to traditionals. There are some good lockback non-traditionals for that price.

For Chinese made slipjoints under $20 Buck has the Trio and others. Rough Rider makes some that are even less costly and are okay quality.
If you can go up only $2.95 you can get a good USA made Buck Solitaire or Lancer.

My first reaction is get a SAK, but I get that they might not be exactly what you're looking for. I honestly believe that everyone needs to have a SAK, an Opinel, and a Mora. All high quality and high value knives. The Case Sod Buster Jr. is another low cost/ high value traditional. If none of those meets your needs look at the Buck imports (you can get a set of two at that big store everyone loves to hate for $20 this time of year) and rough riders.

Here are some knives you can get for $20 or less:
Opinel
Mora
Victorinox
Svord peasant (regular or mini)
Douk Douk
Okapi
Higonokami
Old Hickory (look up mods)

Do a little research; buy whatever floats your boat.

There is not much more to add than what dogstar mentioned above.... now you have the choice :D

Victorinox makes that nice Daypacker and also the Secretary. Both are under $20.
