Please help. I've been hearing for over a week from NJSB that they would have a complete inventory first last Friday, then Wednesday, and then today. So this morning I go find the 1084 and look for O1. Out of Stock. So I call again and am told now that they don't have an estimate for when it may be in because they have to find a new source for 01.

Who do you recommend that would have O1 and 1084? I'm thinking the Jantz's, TKS's, etc. of the world are going to be pretty expensive but I don't know. Thanks!

There's only a few thousand places you can get O1. LOL I used to get it from use-enco.com, but I think flatground.com has good prices too.

O1 can be pricey out in the real world because a lot of it is precision ground bar stock .

go to eBay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...k.TRS1&_nkw=Oil+Hardening+Flat+Stock&_sacat=0 and http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...1+Flat+Stock.TRS1&_nkw=O1+Flat+Stock&_sacat=0 should be able to find the size you need. another source would be Victor Machine in NY, not only is the steel O1, but most of was made in Sheffield, England http://www.victornet.com/alphabetic/Flat-Ground-Stock-up-to-1-8-quot-thick-/91.html. if you shop these two sites, you can beat NJSB prices when you include shipping. if you have a saw that can handle it, the best prices are when you buy stock 8" to 12" wide. as far as 1084, don't know, although 1080+ from AKS should fit the bill.

I'm shocked no one mentioned flatground.com
No one has better prices on O1 then them. I have never been disappointed in them. It has been a little while since I ordered from them but every time I had was a good experience. But thy are the best price I have ever found.

flatground is about 10% more expensive than Victor Machine. Also flatground O1 does not have vanadium. (https://www.flatground.com/support/support.jsp)

I was going to say the same thing!

I order quite a lot from them and everything is wrapped, clean, flat and of course precision ground.

I get everything else from Aldo... and JTKnives recently for the 15n20!

Yep,

I use Flatground for all my A2.

Great prices and service

I've also got some sheets of O2, which is pretty much super O1

O2 will make a good blade, easy heat treat, but is even lower in alloy than O1. if you look hard you might find some from Simonds that is 0.95C, 1.4%mn, and 0.3%Mo. in europe you have 1.2842 https://eng.stahlnetz.de/files/eng/1_2842.pdf.
