Help ID this Ka-Bar

Even Frank is known to change his mind as new information comes to light. People might want to read this follow up piece he wrote a few years later than the one quoted above. Go to the link and you’ll see “Mark 2 Parentage”.

Agree completely. Waiting for the new information to come to light. Won't come from me. I can't even find a picture of a Union Cutlery 571, only a couple of references in text.

I have learned that, years after the fact, Camillus said the Army reps worked with Camillus to create the MK II (first produced by Camillus), while Ka-Bar said those Army reps worked with Union Cutlery to do the same. Maybe they worked with both - and others.

in the end, this is a knife that I can bet on my life on right?

Yes, it's a great knife and one you can use for a lifetime. You got it at a good price. It looks to have been well taken care of.
