tanto bali song logo liner lock anodized handle no steel marking very large:confused: looks like a 975

handle is 5in blade is 3.75in also the thumb stud is part of the blade as in not removable

You say, Bali Song logo. Do you mean Benchmade or the older Pacific Cutlery logo. Just interested as I have a benchmade simaliar to the one you describe.

Mine is a Benchmade and marked as such. The thumbstud is removable though. Blade is 3 7/8", Grip is 5" long.

Wasn't the logo for Pacific Cutlery the butterfly, similar to Benchmade, but without the Benchmade name? If so, that is what is on the knife in question.

I´ll check the knife at home tonight, but the butterfly has Balisong written in it and the knife is marked Benchmade above the butterfly. Like yours, no steel mark or model number. I can not recall, but I believe I purchased the knife in 92 from a small knife shop in Estes Park, Colo.

Just looked at the clip and it is marked benchmade when closed the blade is almost flush with the handle

Rycen,

The clip is marked Benchmade on mine also. I'll post a pic in the next day or so. One thing I looked at is the thumbstud. The one on mone knife is small similar to a Sebenza, a small hex fastens the thumbstud. A liner is only one one side, the lockside.

I'll post a pic in the next day or so.

A picture would probably bring an authorative ID within hours of being posted.

I finialy figured out he photo posting thingie.

We will see how it works.

Edited to add: I would appear that i don`t have it figured out yet.

mschwoeb,

Thanks for the try, but no cigar. I do like the AR though, kinda makes the BM look like the blade on a toe nail trimer. As soon a pix are back up I'll get a pix on.

Thanks

Benchmade Tsunami(sp? tidal wave, sorry I can't spell all that well:)0. They were part of their original line. They were dropped about 7-8 years back, and most discounters priced them in the $75 - 80 range.

P.S., blade steel was G-2.

Thanks Bob,

I have wondered about this knife for a while.

G2 - What kind of steel is that.

Agian, Thanks

G - 2 is pretty good stuff, I believe it's close to 440c that has been tweaked a bit:D. Spyderco used it for many years:).

I never had any complaints regarding the edge holding or sharpeness of this blade. It was my EDC for 5 or 6 years and I carried it all over the world.

Thanks for the information and details.
