I've had this knife for a while and I don't even know what it's called. I bought it without a box. It's unlined micarta, if that helps.

Any help appreciated.

I concur with the Calypso identification - the handles appear to be micarta, not G-10.

C54 Calypso. Handles are definitely unlined black micarta, as that's the only way the C54 was ever offered. Nice catch, those are hard to find, especially in plain edge.

Yes, they definitely are unlined micarta. Thanks for the identification, everyone. How much is a user in decent shape worth do you think? I haven't used it in years.

Definitely C54BMP Calypso. If I remember right, there was only one run ever made, 600 PE and 600 SE. I think I paid around $175 for the PE I snagged on eBay the year before last.

Many of the large Calypsos had warped blades. I have a PE/SE set with matching warps. I recall Sal saying those were sold at a discount originally, but unscrupulous dealers were removing the letter of explanation from the box and selling them for full price.

Whether the blade is straight or not, it is quite a cutting machine. I also recall Sal saying it was a knife he designed for himself, like the Stretch II.
