help identifying a kershaw

a friend of a friend showed me a folding knife last week that he says is a kershaw. He didn't say what model but I noticed that the blade seem to have parallel grooves cut into it, perpendicular to the spine. Any idea what model is it?

That is model 1730, called the "Groove" designed by R.J. Martin.

If it is black and he bought it from Wal-Mart, it would more than likely be the Zing.
