Help identifying an old slip joint

My similar knife has been in my collection for many years, and today is the first time I've seen another knife anything like it.

Mine has dovetail bolsters, a lanyard ring, a saber grind and wooden scales. Mine is all steel/iron and suffers from some condition issues, but mine walks and talks like it was new. Unlike Jason's knife, mine lacks any marks whatsoever. Also, the "flat" side of the blade on mine isn't flat, it's actually slightly hollow. So are these two pieces from the same hand? the same company? the same country or region? Somehow they certainly must be related, don't you think? T-A
