A fellow officer has come on hard times and has several knives he wanted me to post for him. I went through and figured out what most of them were, but having trouble with one. I think it is a Cold Steel Recon Scout but it has no identifying marks. He bought it around the same time he picked up a Cold Steel SRK which he estimates was last 5 to 10 years. It has same type of handle and general build as the SRK. I am including two pics if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Dave

didnt a sterile version get made called the flight of the intruder bowie after a movie knife..also grinds change over the years with change of maker..

The Intruder Bowie was a Trailmaster with a micarta handle. The knife does look good, perhaps a backdoor knife from a supplier? Perhaps actually ask Cold Steel what they know.

I will try an email to Cold Steel. The knife does look good and is built well. I think it feels better than the SRK, but that is just me.

I had looked at the Cold Steel webpage and realized it lacked the markings. Being new to this, I figured ask around as someone may know about a year or model that were made without the markings.

The officer that gave it too me is honest to a fault. He may have had a salesman convince him it was something it wasn't, but he would never lie about it. He swears he bought it at the same time as the SRK, that was why he was thinking it was a Cold Steel. I have him looking again through his safe to see if he can find receipt, box or something that helps identify it.

Thanks to everyone that responded to the thread.

shows my memory is failing.still looks like a sterile recon scout.even if i was wrong about intruder bowie being a recon scout bowie.

I had one of those back in the day. Yes its the real McCoy. Lynn originally made these sterile for use in Desert Storm. It is a Cold Steel Product.

I looked it up in the old cats and it was a 1st year Recon Scout (1993), they changed them shortly after that. :)

Sorry for the confusion.

the real early scouts were unmarked.i had one for years & gave it to my brother.this knife came so sharp that even vetern knife users could,nt beleive the edge.it was as sharp as my wilson combat elite.i never used it & due to weight factors, put a mini hatchet & d2 ka-bar in ready pack. if i was ever going this heavy with a straight knife would opt for a busse.like many of the earlier cold steel products, it was high quality.
