Help identifying ww2 dagger

A friend of mine found this in an old garage he tore down. Wanted to see if anyone could give me some insight on it. Is it a dress dagger that goes with a uniform or what? Anyone know what steel it's made from? Any info on the maker?

Edit: changed my original answer: the dagger in your pictures has a shorter blade, which fits the first model Luftwaffe dagger
