My spidey sense is telling me the same guy that cobbled that kydex together is the same guy that ground down the pommel. I think its a home-modded ASH.

I would totally buy that but for the non-std bottom treatment of the magnum scales like the bottom of the 3B2's scales as said previously. The would be a hard, hard home mod to to right and not sure why one would bother with it. Custom Shop all the way.My spidey sense is telling me the same guy that cobbled that kydex together is the same guy that ground down the pommel. I think its a home-modded ASH.
Have never seen a Busse cloned to precision to where looks anything like Busse would have made. Has anyone else? If that day comes it's going to be a dark sad day indeed.
Clones have ruined so many other companies for me. To the point now where if it's cloned, won't get that model. Even if buy new from reputable dealer it just kinda bothers me you can get a near identical knife for 1/4-1/8 the price. What really really ruined crk for me, is someone gave me a 25 thinking it was real deal buying at $350 or so and even I didn't do research enough to figure out was a clone until a mod took my pics down in crk forum saying no pics of fakes. Honestly, I can't tell much difference between it and real crk having had full size and mini 21s. Edge retention is great, locks solid, ect. Made me question things, big time. Sad to say. But have owned other clones which blades wouldn't take or hold an edge worth a piss. Idk.
If I was you OP I'd go back there immediately and buy it. CS ASH1 for $200, that's a crazy deal.

You're looking at a legit Busse ASH-1 with modding done by or for previous owner(s). Looks CG thick?Hey everyone,
Saw a Busse at my LGS today - it looked like an ASH-1, but seems to be lacking the skull crusher pommel. I guess that could be because it appears to be stamped as a custom shop piece. Anyone know what I'm looking at?
Thanks.

Looks like a fat ASH-1 to me that someone did a mod to the pommel.

Your only real concern is that its warranty may be voided...not that I think it'll fail. Some folks like having a flat pommel for camping, etc., makes a good hammer in a pinch, and some modders did good butts.![]()
Nice looking Rob Simonich Raven in that case as well.
It is a real deal Busse.I may be wrong, but I've never seen a pommel like that and would be skeptical about its authenticity until I knew more.
It is a real deal Busse.
Could be a factory tail on it, or added after. Look at the grind on the but, and if it matches the rest of the finish, it will probably be factory.
... closer look at handle scales makes me say it is a real, custom shop, modded by a user.
I would have no hesitation buying it, if the price was good.
$200 (mentioned) would have me slapping down cash.
I know a SAR guy who carries Busse with the tail modded similarly. For hammering in a pinch, and also no painful side pokes from a skull cracker.
Good deal ! Congrats$200+tax, it’s mine now. Pics later
