Help! I'm turning from Knife-Boy into Light-Boy....

With the purchase of my Small Sebenza I was just getting over my knife fixation....then I started getting an LED habit. First the Arc AAA, then a Surefire E2E-HA with KL1 LED bezel, now (just for fun) an Opalec NewBeam conversion for my Mini Maglite!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

What is worse is when you find many things at once! Folders, fixed blades, balisongs, and lights!

Now a bit over a year later, there's a bunch more knives, a handful of new lights and the RC10T3 remote control truck! It's been damn expensive since I started looking around the internet forums in search of hobby information. I found that the internet and expensive hobbies are a dangerous combination.

I was just sitting here wondering about buying some more sharpening stones, or whether to buy a set of Ni-MH batteries for the RC truck as my old Ni-Cads suck (about the same money!).

I know somebody's going to say just get both, but I'm just returning from vacation (cash outpouring) and the holidays are coming!

Be careful, you're standing on a slippery slope.

It's a natural progression. You start with a knife of some sort-then you start looking for "The Knife" and find quality is addictive-then you start looking for the same in everything you get-that take research and time-as you search you find more things better than you have and we do deserve the best after all, right. I just bought an ARC AAA and an Infinity Ultra. Next is a Surefire E2e HA with Kl1. Don't feel guilty just enjoy....

Don't even get me started! If I purchase the watch I really want, it will probably be the last purchase I ever make!

Oh, the pain of being a gear-head. I definitely know where you're coming from, Steve.

Small update on the space pens. Your local staples should be carrying space pens (including the matte black version) with clip for like 14.99 or something. When you add in shipping this is cheaper than Penwa, and you can get black if you so desire.

not to Britain;)

I've been online here for years lurking somewhat. I only just (last few months) got myself a Strider-Buck mini Spearpoint folder knife for my personal use at work. It's a nice knife. It works and it's tough. It has to be.
So that means I've stepped on the slope from Light-Boy to Knife-Boy.

Al

Steven

Just go with the flow and buy them all, you know you will in the end anyway :D

Off topic but do you still get section 5 on your FAC's over there?

I hope so as you are so close to France:D :D :D

Bagman,
I don't know what section 5 is, but we are still allowed semi-auto guns. I own a Galil ARM 7.62, a Winchester M14 and a Glock 17. Lucky me! I do feel for you guys on the mainland - I know how pissed off I'd be if I had to surrender my guns.
By the way, its 14 Miles to France so I don't think a 7.62 will quite get there.....maybe on a windy day!!!

Me too! {And I've lurked on CPF, which is where I discovered Tim Flanagan...)

I went tool (Leatherman) to knife (Buck Crosslock, CRKT KISS, Endura) to light (Photon II, 6P) - and I now have to buy just the odd extra one. { I think it's about 4 tools 9 knives and a very weedy 8 lights :) )

Just got an ARC LS, couple of Micras, waiting on a Cuda MAXX, and thinking about an E1e HA, E2e HA, and a KL(1?)

Got you now...

Ha! No looking back now, Al. Maybe you'll give me the chance to make fun of your knife preferences. ;)

Tee hee!! Wait till you discover Benchmade folders with the Axis Lock. Everyone should own a Benchmade 705... and then the 710HS, 940, 910, 720, ... ;)

Steven

Section 5 was (is?) fully auto weapons HE HE HE

My understandingf was that in the past you automatically (no pun intended) got a section 5 as part of your FAC in the channel islands?

I do miss being in the TA some times, getting paid to go shoot ing was one of the really good parts.

I've got to find some one who I can trust to sharpen my knife blade for me. I'm tempted to buy a few cheap knifes to practice on.

My SureFire "Collection"

In total, I have about forty working SureFires and lots of accessories and spare parts etc.

I also have a few carefully selected non-SureFires.
Princeton Tec Surge
Streamlight UltraStinger
Underwater Kinetics UK-2L

And I'm getting my self a TigerLight - I have to have one of these.

Someone recently gave me a neat little keychain type light that is fairly bright for such a small package. Thing is only about 1.5in. long, 7/8in. wide, and maybe 1/4in. thick. It's called a PrincetonTec pulsar, and has semi-soft body that is squeezed to light a tiny bulb that puts offconsiderable illumination. Not sure where he got them, but has been handing them out like candy.;)
