Help! I'm turning from Knife-Boy into Light-Boy....

At first I was worried about becoming addicted to lights. I sure as hell don't have enough money to feed both addictions! But then I noticed that I voluntarily hold back on light purchases so that I can buy knives.

I guess I'm not that much of a light person. I just got a Camillus E.D.C. and Kershaw Vapor this week, over getting an Opalec Newbeam mod and some Surefire accessories.

It's a "phase" thing, Alpha. BTDT...

I well remember when I first got all fired up about blades. I'd been toting the same old beat-up SAK (received as a graduation present in 1969) and Buck 110 (purchased in the Fort Polk PX the day before shipping out to the SE Asia War Games, six months later) for many years, but was mesmerized by the work of Glesser, Emerson, et. al. I went through a BUNCH of different blades, stopping just short of plunking down a mortgage payment on a CQC-6.

Now, I have settled down. A Wegner full-size is my EDC blade, along with that tired old SAK which is still going strong. Still got the Buck, too, but it's put up for posterity. I have a Military and an old Endura in reserve.

I've had several 6Ps for many years, and picked up an E2 HA when they came out, but recently got the "flashaholic bug" big-time when I stumbled over the LED light phenomenon. In the past six weeks I've scored an InReTech 2AA adapter for a MiniMag, ditto Opalec unit, an X-5, E1e, and ARC AAA; and have my eye on the A2 that SureFire keeps teasing us with...

It's a phase, dude. It will pass...;)

Haha, yes, you're right about it being a phase. Sometimes you just hit that point in collecting where you say, "what next?!" and stop for a while. Hell, it happened to me with knives (I stopped buying knives for about a full month!!!).

As for flashlights, I went over my purchases over the past 4 months, and I realized that I haven't really stopped, I just buy them more slowly than knives. :) I just got a Brinkmann Rebel, one of those Walmart impulse buys. I've also got a Princeton Tec Aurora and Impact on the way from Botach (which will take a while).
