Help in chosing a new folding knife

First, a Spyderco Native in S30V is a great folder - but we are spoiled here in the states - Wally World (W-M) carries it for $40! It's a bit smaller than your 3.5" desired blade, too.

Another excellent, and more traditional knife, is the Buck 110 - also available cheaply at Wally World. Like the Spydie, it's made in the USA. It's basic blade is of 420HC - and it is specially heat-treated, making it highly serviceable. You can get the same knife in S30V as an 'Alaskan Guide 110' from Cabela's, a mail order/retail store vendor, or in CPM154 from another mail order/retailer - Bass Pro. You can also contact Buck Knife's 'Custom Shop' for a custom made 110. As an example, my nickel-silver bolster/BG42 bladed 110 in orange Fiji-wood scales was $84 + s/h. You might break $200 with all of the bells and whistles, including, if available, teardrop Damascus and Sambar Stag, but not by much. It takes 4-8 weeks + delivery time. I have never found a bargain store USA-made Buck or the Custom Shop 110s - to be less than perfect, either - and very sharp out of the box or blister pack. Good luck!
