Help is this normal

The lock bar should not rattle at all. I own 12 Benchmade knives currently and over 30 in my lifetime. I like Benchmade. But if we let this kind of sloppy work continue, the quality will drop. None of us want that.

How would they fix it you think new titanium handles?

First of all I said lock bar. I meant stop bar. A new titanium slab would possibly work. Or maybe the stop pin is too long. In any event Benchmade needs to correct the problem. And so far they kick butt when it comes to customer service. They make things right.

hmm how much do you think it would cost?

Absolutely free. The problem is the stop pin is too long. That is why it doesn't rattle under tension. You may pay shipping, but that's it. Benchmade has great Customer Service.

It's possible to put a drop od blue loctite on each end, let it dry for 24 hours, and then see how it does. This usually works, at least when one end of the stop pin is within the handle. Of course it could eventually break free, and you would need to do it again.

Just send it in to benchmade. If you make it obvious that you tried to fix it, like used glue for example, benchmade might be a little less willing to honor warranty.

Gotcha well I don't think it effects the knife at all its just something there that's annoying as hell

Yeah, the seller should have definitely told you about that
Another vote to send it back to Benchmade.

If you send it back explain that it rattles when half open since it seems to be ok fully open or closed.

If you want it fixed, BM will, no questions asked.
