Hello. I had someone make a small forge for me out of a 20lb propane bottle. Right now it only has the inside of it lined with the Kaowool, but I would like to seal it up a bit better with some refractory. I was wondering if this Super Demon stuff would work to put over the Kaowool. I don't know of any other product I can get locally.

i don't think you can go wrong with a decent refractory, but i'm using local clay from my sub-soil, unrefined, and still with lots of sand in it. my only problem yet is that it's a little bit brittle.

Not sure about the local refractory, but you definitely want some kind of refractory coating over kaowool as if it is unprotected, it can blast little superheated glass fibers/particles into the air when running.

Doesn't Rob sell refractory?

If there's a brick plant anywhere nearby they'll have refractory, they use it in the kilns.
